Hoh Rainforest. Olympic National Park.

Just a little encounter I had in the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park. :)

We stared at each other for about 5 minutes before some approaching hikers spooked him off. I have video, too. :) He was about 25’ away. Taken with my snapshot camera because my other camera had a wide-angle lens on it and I didn’t want to make any sudden movements (like change lenses!). And the wide-angle would’ve made him look tiny and 100’ away.

I would never have known he was even around if he hadn’t of “squeaked” when I surprised him (yes, he totally “squeaked”).

We had a mutual respect for each other until the other hikers spooked him.
