Websites & Canadian borders.

Sitting in Panera Bread (in Redmond, Wa) hoping the changes I made to the front page of my site this morning make it look and read less like an “infomercial”. It’s all a work-in-progress as I find the right “feel”.

I’ll make more changes when I have time. I have to now get ready to go meet Kimberly Morris Gauthier around 2pm. :) Read more

Day 15: Denied Entry Into Canada!

I spent the morning at Panera Bread making tweaks to my web site and realizing it’s something I’ll probably be doing forever — there’s always something that needs to be done.

After that I made my way to Mill Creek, WA where I had an awesome meet-up with Kimberly, someone who follows me on Facebook. We spent about 3 hours hanging outside of Starbucks chatting about everything.

As we wrap things up, Kimberly walks me over to “Frost Doughnuts” — a place I’d never heard of, but apparently it’s well known in the area. I order a half-dozen to “sample”. After Kimberly and I say our good-byes, what was truly intended as a “sampling” very quickly turns into dinner. :)

Brushing your teeth in the dark…

Brushing your teeth in the dark means sometimes waking up with a dry toothpaste ring around your lips…as I just discovered. Nice one.

Sitting in massage chair (seriously? YES!) in Vince’s Coffee in Renton, WA enjoying the free wifi and a nice White Chocolate Mocha while the local Census Bureau holds a meeting at the table next to mine. Didn’t realize the very friendly man I spoke to when I first came in was actually Vince. I like this place. See their site. :) Read more

Day 14: Digg me, digg me not? Not.

Spend most of day online at Vince’s Coffee Shop in Renton, WA. Post to Redditt and Digg.

Get some very mixed feedback (comments) about my site and what I’m doing…which was expected (it’s the internet, after all), but still not “fun”.

~72% “approval” on Reddit out of 51 votes in 3 days. And 12 “diggs” on Digg.com after 3 days = Fail.

Momentarily demoralized. Read more

Rain, shine & dusty strings.

Hitting the gym, shower, coffee, laundry, and internet this morning…hoping the cold, rainy, greyness blows off during my “errands” to reveal a gorgeous afternoon. But 1st, the gym.

Then I’ll check out Seattle later this afternoon, rain or shine. Probably be here tomorrow, too. :)

Hope everyone is having a good week! Read more
